5 Lions Megaways Slot
One of the many impressive releases from Pragmatic Play, the 5 Lions Megaways slot was first unveiled to online slot players in June 2021. Adopting both an Asian inspired theme as well as Big Time Gaming’s popular game mechanic, this is one of the more unique Megaways slots currently out there, with the developers also implementing a range of other creative aspects to reinforce this fact even more!
5 Lions Megaways Game Background
As it has the Megaways mechanic embedded in its design, the playtable in 5 Lions Megaways is much more dynamic when compared with most other regular online slots. A total of 6 reels, fixed in their positions, sit within an intricate golden frame here, with up to 117,649 paylines spanning the purple-tinted symbol segments. This number can change with every spin, much like the plygrid format, with each reel displaying between 2 and 7 rows of symbols in 5 Lions Megaways.
Above the playgrid and sitting inside two golden statues, the game's logo can be seen in all its glory. To the left of this, a glowing orange orb can be seen, its bright design contrasting with the backdrop behind it. The background in play is predominantly blue, with various wave-style patterns decorating it, whilst a traditional Asian soundtrack can be heard throughout play in 5 Lions Megaways, completing the overall theme.
Games with similar thematics include SPhoenix Sun or the Phoenix SunMonkey Bonanza slot.
5 Lions Megaways Slot Symbols
As for the symbols in this 5 Lions Megaways slot, a number of frequent appearance makers from live casino table games have been featured here, with these being the typical playing card symbols. Thanks to the gold-shimmering trims and glossy colours in their design, they fit the colourful aesthetic this release boasts. The same can be seen from the higher-valued symbols too, with these being made up of different animals and mythological creatures.
Lower Value Symbols:
10
Jack (J)
Queen (Q)
King (K)
Ace (A)
Medium Value Symbols:
Tortoise
Koi Fish
Golden Frog
Higher Value Symbols:
Golden Phoenix
Red Dragon
As the 5 Lions Megaways slot adopts an Asian style theme, it is rather fitting that a Yin & Yang symbol has been made the scatter in this release. Equally fitting is the golden lion symbol, with Pragmatic including this as the wild in play!

Spin the reels - If you are ready to, you can press the spin button, which will display a random assortment of symbols across the playgrid.
Wait for the reels to stop spinning - Once the reels have finished spinning, any base game prizes that were triggered will be awarded to the user.
After this spin, users can either decide if they want to spin again, change their betting stake, or exit the game.
5 Lions Megaways Bonus Features
A common mechanic found in both cluster pay games and Megaways-infused entrants, there is a cascading mechanic in the 5 Lions Megaways slot referred to as the ‘Tumble’ feature. This works by removing from the grid any symbols involved in a combination during play, leaving empty symbol segments in their wake. From here, though, new symbols could potentially tumble down from above and fill these gaps, hence the fitting name for the feature.
If a golden lion manages to appear anywhere on the playgrid during 5 Lions Megaways, this could potentially see it step in for all other symbols. The one symbol this substituting ability doesn't apply to, however, is the Yin & Yang scatter.
If 3 or more of these scatter symbols manage to land in a single spin, this could trigger the 5 Lions Megaways free spins bonus. Before beginning, players are given a number of different coloured lions to select from, with each of these having their own unique free spin counts and wild multipliers. The latter is the main modifier in this feature, with the different options being as follows:
Silver Lion: 25 Free Spins with 2x, 3x and 5x multiplier wilds.
Red Lion: 20 Free Spins with 3x, 5x and 8x multiplier wilds.
Bronze Lion: 15 Free Spins with 5x, 8x and 10x multiplier wilds.
Blue Lion: 13 Free Spins with 8x, 10x and 15x multiplier wilds.
Gold Lion: 10 Free Spins with 10x, 15x and 30x multiplier wilds.
Green Lion: 6 Free Spins with 15x, 30x and 40x multiplier wilds.
Purple Lion: Mystery number Free Spins with a random multiplier wild.
